Cutting it close...

Took me long enough, but here's our invitation. I'll send a hard copy to anyone who gets me their address, but here's the basic rundown:
We're getting married Aug. 16th in the Logan, UT temple.
We're not having a formal reception, but we are having a big party the night before; if anyone wants to come down let me know and I'll get you directions.

And then we leave for China on the 20th. Crazy... We're so excited. Wedding plans are crazy of course (my mom's in Pennsylvania, which means I've been planning my own wedding), but everything's finally coming together, and I'm excited to only have 3 weeks left (we've now been engaged for 5 months; ugh).

I miss you all! I have a true blog floating in my head that needs to be written; we'll see if I get it done before leaving for China. And I'll definitely write from China. Hope you're all doing well!

hey! I like the invitation, it looks good. Wow the 16th eh? That's coming up. I remember when you first got engaged and Meghan was blabbing about how you had a REALLY good weekend :) hehe good luck!

你在中国的时候,要好好地学中文。好不好?

Congratulations, Shan. Don't forget the forks and napkins.

I'm especially excited about your China experience. This will certainly totally make your marriage or break it. (Of course, you'll be successful though. We have few doubts.)

We had some doubts, but they were offering to buy doubts for a really good price so I made some money that way.

我不知道“要好好地学中文”。 我会看那个鞋子, 可是我不懂了。

I'm glad you were able to pick up some spare change off of those doubts, Ivor.

I've had a lot of people tell me this China trip is the best thing we could do for our marriage. We're going to have to rely completely on each other (we'll be the only two American teachers at our school), which will be good to learn now. I plan to let this trip make our marriage, not break it. :-)

I'm so excited for you. Your announcements look great. I'm excited for your China experience. You two get to learn to live far from everyone you know, and Brad and I are going to have to learn to live within blocks from his family. Good luck with your experience. Wish me luck with mine!

?Good luck. Good luck." I want to say Bad luck to break this cheesy spell. Then I predict you'll all swim with dolphins in a blue-green sea, and dance on a floor of rose petals, run along the Great Wall in a pelting rain, pounding the sides with bamboo sticks so everyone, clear to Russia, knows you are alive and in love, and unafraid of eating fish heads. Anyway, that's what I wish for all of you who are in love. So there.

I don't know you Shannon, but I know your fiance. I went to high school with him. How fun that you could find such a great guy. I wish you both the best.
