Toilet-phobia

Have you ever stopped to wonder which stalls in a public bathroom are used the most? I think about it every time I have to use one. I never go to the first stall--it's the closest--so surely most lazy people go there. And I don't use the last stall because certainly people who think the first stall is used the most go to the last stall. But then what about those two or three stalls in between the first and last stall? I personally always either go to the second or third. But what if other people think the same way I do and therefore choose those same stalls? Disgusting. The whole thing is disgusting. Which stall do you think is used the most?

(Just look at me: I've only been in the public school system for seven days and already I think like a middle schooler. I'm doomed.)

Definitely the third stall. Those who come into the restroom (and are not in a hurry) usually check their hair, their makeup, and (since you are in middle school, after all) bemoan the fact that their too skinny, too fat, their hair's not right, they have a zit the size of Madagascar, and "oh my gosh, did he totally see you do that?" type conversations. After a few minutes of this, one girl will inevitably turn and go into the stall. Since they all lined up to look into the mirrors, the girls will turn to the middle stalls to use the bathroom. And yes, I foresee the most common one being the third. Why? Because middle school girls don't travel in packs of less than three. If there were two girls, it would be the second, but most likely it will be a group of three.

Take heart, dear Emily. At least their are not students peeing in a puddle on the playground.

Well, just don't use the stall next to the one person in the bathroom who's already using a stall. (Unless there's only two stalls) People who feel compelled to sit that close are just weirdys.

Sometimes it's better to just hold it till you get home. I had a friend that would never use any of the stalls in highschool, and would hold it till he got home. I have to admit that was pretty impressive, but I guess that's the alternative.

Also, I think the girls bathroom has to be a million times nicer than the guys bathroom ever were. In my school, the stalls were places that made you wonder if they should teach toilet training in school or how to aim properly because, wow.

Actually any stalls in the middle are the germiest. (I read it in a Reader's Digest, so it must be true, right?) So, I always use the very first stall. It's just like how the people who pick the front row seat in an empty classroom are rarer than those who tend to pick middle or back.

Well, in California, Johnny Law says you have to provide toilet seat covers in all public or business restrooms. Scientifically, it doesn't really block any germs, but it makes you feel a whole lot better. I'm in the habit of making my own out of toilet paper strips when I'm out of state (like I am when I'm in ID.) Maybe that could alleviate the situation?

Thanks guys. I think I will do as Ivor's friend did and just not use a public restroom. Ever. It's certainly the least germy.
